Game Mode – reduce system usage for gaming

On December 19, 2008, in Windows Tools, by WebMaster

Turn off and close all unnecessary programs to make your games run smoother and faster! This tool will keep only the very basic Windows program running.

Imagine that you are working in your computer fully loaded with programs running in the background. Memory is full, CPU usage is high.  And now you want to play a game! Lets say a cutting edge game that uses a lot of your computer resources.

This software will simply:

  1. Look at your computer’s running processes
  2. Save them in a list (ignoring the essential windows / system processes)
  3. Then it will kill (close) all the non-essential process (non-systematic)
  4. When you finish your game, click on Return to Normal Mode. & Yups your ex-session is back!

so basicaaly this software simply save your session before gaming then load it again in 1 simple click!

I’m running on Windows Vista Business btw.

    Any help?

just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.

    For example:

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

hope you find a way to fix this error because vista need some thing like this for gaming

  8. Greg Greg says:

Hi, I just found this program and I must say… it’s the best thing ever!! I found a similar program for linux once and I always wanted to find one for windows, great job!. However, is there any chance of having an upgraded version of this program? Adding stuff like “exceptions” programs that will not be closed when game mode is activated or adding more programs for it to shut down (if it were possible) would be 2 find additions for a second version.

  9. chen chen says:

i’ve tried it on windows 7 with the same error as above. any fix?
